Bug Bite Balm
Bug bites happen! This balm is here to help! Lard from our pasture raised kunekune pigs is infused with 4 powerhouse herbs to stop itching, draw out toxins, protect from infection, and soothe inflammation.
Plantain - often seen as a “pesky weed” in your yard, this plant is one of the best first aid plants there is. Its antimicrobial and anti-allergic properties, along with its ability to encourage tissue repair, make it the perfect herb for tackling bug bites.
Yarrow - a personal favorite, this beautiful wild flower is also an herb known for all things healing. Yarrow is styptic, astringent, anti-inflammatory, and works brilliantly to help kill bacteria on a wound.
Chamomile - known well for its ability to soothe our minds, Chamomile is also extremely soothing for our skin, which is just what we need when bug bites cause irritation and inflammation.
Calendula - for anything skin related, I reach for this little flower. Calendula is antiseptic, antifungal and is high in anti-inflammatory flavonoids that encourage tissue healing.
This balm is a lifesaver for us in the spring and summer! Between the bee and wasp stings and the never ending mosquito bites, this balm stays close by and gets used daily!
